“A true-life spy story of ultimate suspense. High speed and inconceivable bravery!”

A train vanishes from a Georgia station in 1862, taken by men in civilian clothes who have no business behind Confederate lines. They are Union volunteers led by the spy James J. Andrews (Fess Parker), sent north of Atlanta to tear up track, burn bridges and cut telegraph wires on the way back to Tennessee. Francis D. Lyon puts conductor William A. Fuller (Jeffrey Hunter) on their trail, and one wrong move leaves every man a hanging.
