The Great Magician

Chang Hsien (Tony Leung Chiu-wai) is an illusionist who comes home from abroad in the 1920s with one aim: to find Liu Yin (Zhou Xun), the woman he loved, before a warlord makes her his seventh wife. Lei Bully (Lau Ching-wan) holds her in his house, and his own city is crowded with rival warlords and revolutionaries. Derek Yee builds the story on tricks and disguises, and everyone in it is pretending to be someone else.
