The Greatest Game Ever Played

(2005)Directed by Bill Paxton120 min · PGDrama

Francis Ouimet (Shia LaBeouf), a 20-year-old amateur in 1913, takes a place in the U.S. Open against the best professionals alive, among them his idol Harry Vardon (Stephen Dillane). Bill Paxton directs the golf in bright, quick strokes, with Eddie Lowery (Josh Flitter) lugging his clubs. Ouimet is a young man from the wrong side of the club gates, and he hits every shot for his father, Arthur (Elias Koteas), who never wanted him near the game.
