Brad Braden (Charlton Heston) books The Great Sebastian (Cornel Wilde) to fill out the season, and the move bumps his girlfriend Holly (Betty Hutton) from the center trapeze spot she worked years to earn. Holly answers by turning the ring into a contest, each of them chasing a riskier stunt than the last while Sebastian pursues her on the ground. Cecil B. DeMille follows a Ringling Bros. season where the show must go on, whoever gets hurt.
