The Green Archer

Garre Castle has a ghost: the Green Archer, a fourteenth-century outlaw said to have terrorised the lords of the manor, and someone is wearing his hood again. Abel Bellamy (Gert Fröbe), an American emigre, has just come home on business he keeps vague, and his niece Valerie (Karin Dor) is moving into the neighbouring mansion. Jürgen Roland shoots it in black and white, and the Archer's shape stands against the dark estate.
