“The story you've never seen.”

Hoffman (David Arquette) is a prisoner at Auschwitz, one of the Jewish men of the twelfth Sonderkommando, who help run the gas chambers and crematoria for the Nazis. In return they get a few more months of food, clothes and life, and Tim Blake Nelson, adapting Miklós Nyiszli's eyewitness account, keeps them in that bargain. Every extra day they are given is paid for with the deaths of their own people.
