The Grifters

“Seduction. Betrayal. Murder. Who’s conning who?”

Nobody in Roy Dillon's life tells him the full truth, and the two women closest to him each seem to be working an angle. Roy (John Cusack) is a small-time con man whose estranged mother, Lilly (Anjelica Huston), has turned up again, while his new girlfriend, Myra (Annette Bening), is a grifter herself. Stephen Frears pulls them into one cramped orbit, and Roy stands between them with his hands in his pockets, still not sure whose game he is in.
