Ben Randall (Kevin Costner) is a legendary Coast Guard rescue swimmer, now sent to teach the next class at the Aviation Survival Technician "A" School. His toughest student is Jake Fischer (Ashton Kutcher), a high school swim champion with a troubled past who pushes himself harder than anyone in the pool.
