The Guernsey Literary & Potato Peel Pie Society

In 1946 London, the writer Juliet Ashton (Lily James) gets a letter from a stranger on Guernsey that mentions a book club formed during the wartime occupation, with a name no one would invent. Mike Newell sends her to meet the members, among them Dawsey Adams (Michiel Huisman). The book she planned to write depends on the story of Elizabeth McKenna (Jessica Brown Findlay), and the islanders are slow to tell it.
