The Gun in Betty Lou's Handbag

“She was a nobody until someone found...”

Betty Lou (Penelope Ann Miller) is a small-town Southern librarian who badly wants her dull, overlooked life to count for more. When she finds a gun that was used in a murder, she turns it in and confesses to the crime herself, a lie Allan Moyle plays for comedy. Now Betty Lou has the attention she wanted, along with a husband, a town, and the law all watching her.
