The Guru

“When he talks, women listen.”

Ramu Gupta (Jimi Mistry) is a dance teacher in India who has never gotten over the Hollywood movies he grew up on, and a friend's talk of a Mercedes and a penthouse sends him to America to become a singer and actor. Daisy von Scherler Mayer follows him into a bohemian circle that includes Sharonna (Heather Graham) and Lexi (Marisa Tomei), where he knows almost no one. His whole plan rests on one friend's boasting, and he has little money and no other way in.
