The Halt

Hook Torollo (Piolo Pascual) wants to keep his small piece of Manila in 2034, years after volcanic eruptions covered Southeast Asia in darkness. The city is run by madmen under President Nirvano Navarra (Joel Lamangan), and Lav Diaz follows Hook and the people around him, Jean Hadoro (Pinky Amador) and Haminilda Rios (Shaina Magdayao) among them. In a country that has lost the sun, what is at risk is the last of anyone's hold on a normal life.
