The Hands of Orlac

A pianist's hands are crushed in an accident, and a surgeon grafts on a new pair. Then Paul Orlac (Conrad Veidt) learns that they once belonged to a murderer. Robert Wiene follows him in this 1924 silent as he stares at his fingers and cannot be sure they still obey him, while his wife Yvonne (Alexandra Sorina) tries to reach a man who flinches from her touch.
