Harry Frommermann (Ulrich Noethen) is a young man in Berlin in 1927 who wants to start a vocal group of five singers and a piano, and he has to find voices that will blend. Joseph Vilsmaier follows him as Robert Biberti (Ben Becker), Roman Cycowski (Heino Ferch) and the others join, until the sextet becomes famous across Germany.
