“A coffin without a corpse... crammed with millions in cash!”

Colonel Jonas (Joseph Cotten) wants the Confederacy back, and he has the money to pay for it, taken from a Union shipment and hidden in a coffin. He sets out across the Southwest with his three sons and a card shark, Claire (Norma Bengell) among them, hauling the box mile after mile in Sergio Corbucci's sun-bleached frontier. Everything the Colonel believes rides in that coffin, and anyone who learns what it holds can take it from him.
