“The truth at last? What really happened to The Hindenburg?”

In 1937, the Hindenburg airship is preparing to cross the Atlantic with a ship full of passengers and crew. Colonel Franz Ritter (George C. Scott), a former hero pilot now in military intelligence, is put aboard as chief of security. Robert Wise confines him to the narrow corridors and cabins of the zeppelin, where every person Ritter questions is a suspect and no one can leave.
