The History Boys

“History. It's just one bloody thing after another.”

Eight bright boys at a Yorkshire grammar school have the results to try for Oxford and Cambridge, and nobody can say why that is not enough. Their headmaster hires Irwin (Stephen Campbell Moore) to sharpen their answers, which sets him against Hector (Richard Griffiths), the English master who teaches poetry and songs for love of them. Dakin (Dominic Cooper), Posner (Samuel Barnett) and Timms (James Corden) sit crowded in a classroom, trading lines across the desks.
