“Who'll be his next victim... YOU?”

A man in the passenger seat sleeps with one eye open, and the two friends who picked him up cannot tell whether he is watching them. Roy Collins (Edmond O'Brien) and Gilbert Bowen (Frank Lovejoy) set out on a fishing trip and end up hostages of Emmett Myers (William Talman), a killer on the run who tells them he will shoot once they stop being useful. Ida Lupino keeps the two old friends with only each other to trust.
