The Hitcher

“The terror starts the moment he stops.”

A stormy night on a long Texas highway, and Jim Halsey (C. Thomas Howell) is delivering a luxury car from Chicago to California, tired enough to pick up the stranger standing in the road. John Ryder (Rutger Hauer) is the man he hopes will keep him awake. Robert Harmon builds the film around a plain, ugly idea: the worst thing can ride along with you because you were too worn out to say no.
