A wizard and thirteen dwarves arrive at the door of Bilbo Baggins (Martin Freeman), a hobbit who has never left his village, and recruit him for a quest to reclaim their mountain gold. Gandalf the Grey (Ian McKellen) and Thorin Oakenshield (Richard Armitage) pull Bilbo into a world of dark forests and goblin armies. As they journey deeper into the wild, Bilbo finds himself holding a small magic ring in his pocket, glowing faint.
