“From the smallest beginnings come the greatest legends.”

Thirteen dwarves turn up at the door of Bilbo Baggins (Martin Freeman), a hobbit who wants nothing more than a quiet afternoon, and Gandalf the Grey (Ian McKellen) has already told them Bilbo is their burglar. Thorin Oakenshield (Richard Armitage) leads them toward the Lonely Mountain, the home Smaug the dragon took from them. Peter Jackson sends the company out of the Shire, and Bilbo walks at the back, small beside the dwarves and the wizard's staff.
