Bilbo Baggins (Martin Freeman) travels across Middle-earth with a company of dwarves led by Thorin Oakenshield (Richard Armitage), carrying a mysterious ring toward a mountain where a dragon sleeps. The closer they get, the more danger crowds in: dark forests, giant spiders, and Smaug (Benedict Cumberbatch), a creature of fire and greed. Bilbo and Thorin must depend on each other to survive.
