The Hollywood Revue of 1929

(1929)Directed by Charles Reisner118 minComedy, Music
“25 of the screen's greatest stars - chorus of 200 - amazingly revolutionary motion picture!”

MGM wants to show off every contract player it has, and the studio is only a few years into making sound pictures. Charles Reisner directs this two-hour revue, with Conrad Nagel and Jack Benny as the masters of ceremonies and three segments shot in Technicolor. John Gilbert (as Romeo) and Norma Shearer (as Juliet) share a balcony, and Joan Crawford turns up as herself.
