The Holy Man

Birinchi Baba (Charuprakash Ghosh) is a wandering holy man who arrives with a loyal assistant (Rabi Ghosh) and a soft, confident way of speaking that people want to believe. A widowed father and his youngest daughter, Buchki (Gitali Roy), take him in and begin to follow his teaching. Satyajit Ray keeps the household at the center, where the boyfriend and the skeptical Nibaran stand to lose the family to the stranger at its table.
