The Homesman

Mary Bee Cuddy (Hilary Swank) is a devout, self-reliant woman on the Nebraska frontier, and when three neighbors are driven mad by the hardship of pioneer life, she volunteers to take them by covered wagon to a church in Iowa. For help she hires George Briggs (Tommy Lee Jones), a drifter she finds in a bad spot and has no reason to trust. Jones also directs, and the trip east is a sparring partnership between two people with little in common.
