The Horse Thief

Norbu (Rigzin Tseshang) is a Tibetan highwayman and a devout Buddhist, raising his young son with his wife Dolma (Jiji Dan) inside a clan that does not forgive his thieving. When he is caught stealing from the temple, the clan banishes the family, and they are left with little food and no one to turn to. Tian Zhuangzhuang follows Norbu and Dolma through that exile, and everything the two of them do afterward is for the child they have left.
