Harry Madox (Don Johnson) drifts into a small town and finds himself in trouble with the local authorities and the local women, one of them Dolly Harshaw (Virginia Madsen), another Gloria Harper (Jennifer Connelly). Dennis Hopper adapts Charles Williams's 1953 novel Hell Hath No Fury, with a score by Jack Nitzsche featuring John Lee Hooker (guitar) and Miles Davis (trumpet). The blues runs under it all, slow and low, and Harry keeps moving through it.
