The Hottest State

“What happens when your first love is love itself?”

William Harding (Mark Webber) is a young actor from Texas trying to get work in New York, and he meets Sarah (Catalina Sandino Moreno), a singer and songwriter, early on. Their relationship becomes the thing he is least sure how to handle, and his mother (Sonia Braga) is part of the picture too. Ethan Hawke, adapting his own 1996 novel, directs and also appears as Vince.
