The Hound of the Baskervilles

(1939)Directed by Sidney Lanfield80 minMystery, Crime, Horror, Thriller

In 1939, Sir Henry Baskerville (Richard Greene) inherits the family estate on the moors, where his uncle has just died and a curse is said to hang over the name. Sherlock Holmes (Basil Rathbone) is hired to look into it, with Dr. Watson (Nigel Bruce) alongside him. Sidney Lanfield sends them out over the moors, and the curse begins to feel less like a story than a threat to Sir Henry.
