The House That Jack Built

“If you feel like screaming... you definitely should.”

A voice in the dark asks Jack (Matt Dillon) to account for his twelve years as a serial killer in Washington State, and he answers with five incidents he calls his finest work. Lars von Trier frames each one as a story Jack tells a man named Verge (Bruno Ganz), who listens and interrupts. Jack argues for his crimes the way a failed architect would, and Verge never lets the argument stand unanswered.
