“...Every 24 hours an American family will be killed by radical assassins...if the CIA, FBI and police can't stop it...the human factor will!”

John Kinsdale (George Kennedy) is a computer engineer whose family is murdered, with no reason given and no one to blame. He sets out to find the people responsible, and the trail leads him through Naples, where Mike McAllister (John Mills) and Dr. Lupo (Raf Vallone) figure in his search. Edward Dmytryk, in his last theatrically released film, shot on location in the city, with Ennio Morricone supplying the score.
