The Human Factor

(1979)Directed by Otto Preminger115 min · RThriller
“Every man in love is a potential traitor.”

In 1979 London, a leak has been traced to the African section of British Intelligence, and a security man is brought in to find the source. Maurice Castle (Nicol Williamson) and Arthur Davis (Derek Jacobi) work that desk, and Colonel John Daintry (Richard Attenborough) wants it closed quietly. Otto Preminger directs Tom Stoppard's adaptation of Graham Greene's novel with restraint, keeping the suspicion in small talk across office desks.
