The Human Stain

“How far would you go to escape the past?”

In a small New England college town, Coleman Silk (Anthony Hopkins), a respected classics professor, loses his post over a single word he used in class. Robert Benton follows him as he sets out to clear his name with the writer Nathan Zuckerman (Gary Sinise), and as he takes up with Faunia Farley (Nicole Kidman), a younger woman with a troubled past. Everything Coleman has kept hidden for a lifetime now rests on how far the two of them dig.
