The Hunchback of Notre Dame

Quasimodo (Lon Chaney), the deformed bellringer of Notre Dame, wants only to stay in the cathedral tower, where no one can see him. Then Esmeralda (Patsy Ruth Miller), a gypsy girl in 15th century France, is framed for murder by the infatuated Chief Justice. Wallace Worsley's silent film leaves the bellringer as the one person who might save her, and Chaney plays him with his whole body bent toward her.
