The Hunger
“Nothing human loves forever.”
John Blaylock (David Bowie), a cellist who has shared centuries with the vampire Miriam (Catherine Deneuve), wakes to find that he has suddenly started growing old. He goes looking for Dr. Sarah Roberts (Susan Sarandon), a researcher who studies how the body ages. Tony Scott, in his first feature, fills the film with Miriam's pale hands and the cellist's unplayed strings, two things that no longer belong to the man who owns them.
