The Hunt for Red October

“Invisible. Silent. Stolen.”

Jack Ryan (Alec Baldwin) is a CIA analyst who spends his days reading reports, not chasing submarines. Then a new Soviet nuclear sub, the Red October, heads for the American coast under Captain Marko Ramius (Sean Connery), and Washington decides Ramius means to attack. McTiernan gives Ryan only a few hours to prove his hunch that the man is defecting, with the whole Soviet navy and air command hunting the same boat.
