The Hurricane

“His greatest fight was for justice.”

Rubin "Hurricane" Carter (Denzel Washington) is a middleweight boxer who wants one thing: to prove he did not commit a triple murder in a bar in Paterson, New Jersey. A teenager named Lesra Martin (Vicellous Shannon), along with a small group of Canadians that includes Lisa Peters (Deborah Kara Unger), takes up his case. Norman Jewison builds the film from Carter's 1974 autobiography and a later book by two of the people who fought for him.
