“This mission is on thin ice.”

A diamond mine in far northern Canada collapses, trapping the miners underground, and the only way to reach them is across a frozen ocean. Mike McCann (Liam Neeson), a veteran ice road driver, has to lead the convoy, with his brother Gurty (Marcus Thomas) and Tantoo (Amber Midthunder) along for the haul. Jonathan Hensleigh builds the film from the old trucker-thriller setup, putting the rigs out on the ice and keeping the tension close to the wheel.
