The Immortal Story
Charles Clay (Orson Welles) is an aged, wealthy trader who wants one particular sailor's tale made true: a stranger paid to sleep with a rich man's wife. He sends his servant Elishama Levinsky (Roger Coggio) to find the people to act it out, a local woman, Virginie Ducrot (Jeanne Moreau), and a young sailor, Paul (Norman Eshley). Welles made it as a sixty-minute television film, the shortest feature he ever directed.
