The Important Man

Why would a man who gambles away every coin and cheats on his loyal wife still believe the village will one day name him mayordomo, its highest honor, usually given to the wealthiest and most respected? Ánimas Trujano (Toshirō Mifune) does believe it, and Ismael Rodríguez follows him through a small Mexican village where everyone knows his habits. Juana (Columba Domínguez) stays with him, and the bond between them is what he keeps testing.
