Sardu (Seamus O'Brien) wants a full house for his Theatre of the Macabre in New York City, where he and his assistant Ralphus stage torture and murder as stage magic. The audience applauds what they take for clever tricks, never guessing the blood on the stage is real. Joel M. Reed makes Sardu a showman so pleased with his own act that the cruelty is only the price of the ticket.
