The Informant!

“Based on a tattle-tale”

In the mid-1990s, Mark Whitacre (Matt Damon) is a rising executive at agri-industry giant Archer Daniels Midland, and he has just agreed to tell the FBI about a price-fixing conspiracy inside his own company. Steven Soderbergh follows him through meetings with agent Brian Shepard (Scott Bakula), where Whitacre imagines being hailed as a hero of the common man and handed a promotion. Damon sits in a rumpled suit, mustache neat, recording device taped to him.
