The Inn on the River

(1962)Directed by Alfred Vohrer92 minCrime, Drama

Inspektor Ward (Joachim Fuchsberger) wants The Shark off the streets of London, a killer who spears his victims with a speargun and slips away through the sewer tunnels in a scuba-diver's wetsuit. His search leads to a riverside inn and the people around it, among them Leila Smith (Brigitte Grothum) and Gregor Gubanow (Klaus Kinski). Alfred Vohrer, adapting one of the Edgar Wallace novels, builds the case slowly, with dread gathering in the dark of the tunnels.
