The Invisible Man

(1933)Directed by James Whale71 minHorror, Science Fiction
“H.G. Wells’ fantastic, out-of-this-world show!”

A stranger wrapped head to foot in bandages, his eyes hidden behind dark glasses, takes a room at an inn in the village of Iping and orders the staff to leave him alone. Dr. Jack Griffin (Claude Rains) has made himself invisible, and he now wants the cure at any cost, while his fiancée Flora Cranley (Gloria Stuart) waits in London. James Whale plays the horror for dark comedy as well as fear, and Rains gives Griffin a voice that does most of the work.
