The Irishman

“His story changed history.”

Frank Sheeran (Robert De Niro) is a Pennsylvania truck driver and war veteran of Irish origin, and in 1956 a chance meeting puts him in front of the mobster Russell Bufalino (Joe Pesci). Once Frank earns his trust, Bufalino sends him to Chicago to help the Teamsters leader Jimmy Hoffa (Al Pacino), and the two men stay close for nearly twenty years. Scorsese has Frank tell it from old age, an old man in a chair, his daughter's door closed to him.
