The Iron Giant

“It came from outer space!”

Rockwell, Maine, October 1957, and a nine-year-old named Hogarth Hughes finds a giant metal machine of extraterrestrial origin in the woods outside town. He befriends it, and with help from a beatnik artist, Dean McCoppin (Harry Connick Jr.), he tries to keep it hidden from the United States military. Brad Bird draws the small-town Cold War setting in warm, hand-drawn color, and the Giant, voiced by Vin Diesel, is animated with a gentle, careful weight.
