The Iron Lady

“Never Compromise.”

An elderly Margaret Thatcher (Meryl Streep) sits in her home, talking to her husband Denis (Jim Broadbent), who is no longer alive to answer her. Phyllida Lloyd moves between this present and the decades behind it, from a grocer's daughter to the first woman to hold the office of Prime Minister. Through all of it Denis stays at her side, in the kitchen, in the chair across from her, with the price of her career set out in what she has left.
