The Island

“For three hundred years a terrifying secret has been kept from the outside world.”

Boats keep vanishing in the Caribbean, yachts and sail boats carrying people on vacation, and no wreckage ever turns up. Blair Maynard (Michael Caine), a reporter, travels there with his son to find out why, and runs into David Nau (David Warner), who leads a band of modern pirates. Michael Ritchie follows Blair as Nau decides to make him and the boy part of the tribe, which leaves a father with a story he can no longer leave.
