Lincoln Six Echo (Ewan McGregor) lives in a sealed, spotless compound in 2019, and like everyone there he wants to win the lottery that sends a resident to The Island, said to be the last clean place on Earth. Then Lincoln starts to see that nothing about his existence is what he was told. Michael Bay builds the compound out of pale walls, glass and clean lines, a place so orderly that it looks like a contained, controlled thing.
