The Island

In 2018, a man named Ma Jin (Huang Bo) still dreams of winning the lottery when a cataclysmic event leaves him stranded on an island with his co-workers. Among them are Shan Shan (Shu Qi), Xiao Wang (Wang Baoqiang) and Xiao Xing (Zhang Yixing), all of them cut off together under Mr. Zhang (Yu Hewei). In his first feature as director, Huang Bo keeps the whole group in frame, letting the film play as one crowded, sun-bleached comedy.
