The Jane Austen Book Club

“You don't have to know the books to be in the club”

Six Californians sit down to read Austen, one novel a month, each meeting held at a different member's house. Jocelyn (Maria Bello), Prudie (Emily Blunt), Sylvia (Amy Brenneman), Bernadette (Kathy Baker) and Grigg (Hugh Dancy) bring their own troubles along with the books. Robin Swicord lets the pages and the members' lives echo each other, and what holds the club together is how much these friends have kept from one another.
